This detective story truly takes you down the Rabbit Hole. It’s a quick little page turner that has detective Alice Blake following leads and getting curiouser and curiouser. The story works as an interesting who-done-it, but the tale is spiced up by the Carroll inspired morphology. I enjoyed making the connection between the inhabitants of Underville, and the characters from the classic. Finally, James is able to make Alice an interesting and sympathetic character. I cared what happened to her and enjoyed taking the journey alongside her.

Alice in Underville was an easy but entertaining read! It puts a fun twist on Alice in Wonderland in the time of the 1930s! I’ve read tons of Alice in Wonderland inspired books this was by far my favorite!
